He loves it so much that all he wanted to do was figure out a way to chase the giraffe in the train. This toy absolutely taught him how to crawl. I would recommend it to anyone. My son recieved this as a christmas gift this last December. Once he was able to sit up he really took an interest to it.
That makes him laugh for hours on end. His favorite part is moving the giraffe's head and legs as they make clicking sounds everytime they move. It took hima while to warm up to it, but now it's the first toy he goes to. This is Alexander's favorite toy. The music is a tad bit annoying, but easily turned off.
We paid around $30 for it and I thought we got a lot of bang for our buck but I think if I paid more than $50 I would feel like it wasn't a good deal. I noticed that the price is way up from when we got it at Christmas time. My daughter and all her buddies LOVE this train. It is a fantastic gift for any kiddo - boy or girl.
My boss found her train at Costco for under $25 where I had to pay almost $70 to get this hard to find item. What a wonderful toy. I have four kids and wish we had this for them when they were little. I purchased this for my grandson after he played with one where I work. It was well worth it and will keep it for all my grandkids to come. My grandson was so excited when he saw the rest of the train months later. My boss had bought this for her grandson, but only brought in the front part of the train and no animals. We put his snacks or bottle in the train and send it on its way and my grandson excitingly goes after it laughing all the way.
I believe music is so educational but it does not have to be so nerve grating. You can not make the train go forward or make the animal sounds without the music portion being on which is the most annoying woman singing over and over. So it's sort of all or nothing. We bought this toy for our 6 month old son with Amazon's "Frustration Free Packaging" which rocks, so much less hassle and trash. So we'll probably keep the animals and donate the train itself. The train itself is really durable and cute and he has fun with the animal sounds too. Our son (and us) adores the giraffe and elephant with their clicking, clacking and turning body parts as well as the rattling monkey. Unfortunately this toy is super annoying in one regard and has a major draw back.
